Price the materials still missing from your plan and keep crafting fees separate. A listed item value is useful context, but it does not promise that a vendor sells the item or that another player will pay that amount. The crafting planner lets you enter the prices available to you, while the source finder helps you compare buying with gathering or other acquisition methods.
Is a shop value a place to buy the item?
Pig Iron has a listed value of 120 coins and a shop value of 240. Those numbers alone do not identify a seller. Its source list must have a vendor relationship before you can treat a shop as an available purchase route. A gathering source is a different route with a different cost in travel and time.
Suppose your remaining bill is 25 materials and a player offers them for 12.5 coins each. The purchase subtotal is 312.5 coins. That is a hypothetical price calculation, not a Pig Iron market quotation. Enter a price only after checking the offer you can actually use. A blank price means the purchase budget is incomplete; it is different from deliberately entering zero for a material you will obtain without a coin payment.
How does owned stock change a budget?
Count owned materials before pricing the rest. If a recipe needs 45 units and you already have 20, only 25 belong in the purchase list. Pricing all 45 again overstates the remaining spend. Conversely, marking material as owned when it is reserved for another upgrade understates what you still need.
Batch output matters as well. A recipe that produces five items per craft needs three crafts to meet a target of twelve. The extra three produced items remain useful inventory, but the last craft still consumes its full ingredient bill. Use the planner's produced quantity and remaining-material rows together instead of dividing the target into fractional crafts.
What belongs beside the material subtotal?
A recipe can charge a flat crafting fee in addition to its ingredients. Expanding a material into its own recipe can add further fees and change which raw materials you must obtain. The planner reports known fees separately. When a recipe does not specify one, the total remains incomplete rather than silently treating the missing amount as a confirmed free craft.
Refining has another budget entirely. Mirage Celestones and refining aids are consumed by attempts, including attempts recovering levels lost on failure. Keep that upgrade cost beside the acquisition bill for the equipment. The refining guide explains why an expected number of attempts is not a spending ceiling.
Why is the largest coin value not the best farming route?
A monster's listed coin amount does not include your kill time, repair cost, travel time or the effort needed to reach that area. An extra-drop weight does not by itself state the chance of obtaining an item from each kill. Ranking monsters only by one coin field would skip the conditions that determine whether the activity is profitable for your character.
Use a source page to find a candidate activity, then measure what you actually collect and spend in game. Compare the result with the missing quantities in your plan. Gathering a material yourself can lower the coin payment while still costing time; that distinction is useful when your goal is to finish an upgrade before the next session rather than maximize a theoretical coin total.
CN PC upstream materials
The CN PC example 完美上签_完美饼干 gives a concrete material budget: four planned batches list 36 完美·上签 and a nominal 100 完美饼干. These original Chinese item names identify this regional recipe; they are separate from the historical examples above.

For that intermediate material, choose 五铢钱换上签 explicitly. Each upstream batch lists one 五铢钱 and a nominal 15 完美·上签. Whole batches produce this plan:
| Step | Planned batches | Listed input | Nominal output | Allocation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 五铢钱换上签 | 3 | 3 五铢钱 | 45 完美·上签 | 36 used by the next step; 9 surplus |
| 完美上签_完美饼干 | 4 | 36 完美·上签 | 100 完美饼干 | The selected batch output |

Open the upstream material budget. The three 五铢钱 are the remaining listed material when the plan starts with no stock. They do not establish that crafting costs three ordinary coins, or that every other fee is zero. Use the exact named material when checking what you own or can acquire.
Enter stock in the private 已有库存 fields and let the combined bill subtract it once. Do not subtract the same stack separately from both the intermediate row and its upstream ingredients. A nominal surplus is a planning remainder; it becomes owned inventory only after the corresponding result is actually received in game.

A smaller target changes the bill: a nominal target of 26 完美饼干 uses two biscuit batches, lists 18 完美·上签 and gives a nominal 50 完美饼干, or 24 above the target. The batch guide shows why rounding to whole batches matters.
