Perfect World resource maps: find a material and share its location

Start with the material you need, then follow its gathering source to the map. Searching for an item and searching for a node are different tasks: Pig Iron comes from the Iron Ore gathering node. The node name is useful when you are looking around the world, while the material name is the right starting point for a crafting bill.

How do you get from a material to its location?

Open Pig Iron sources, find the gathering row for Iron Ore and choose its location action. It opens an individual Iron Ore location, with the node selected on the map. The page identifies one placement rather than treating every occurrence of the same resource as the same spot.

The source list also distinguishes monsters and other containers where a material is listed. Follow a monster location when you intend to hunt it, and a gathering-node location when you intend to collect it. A low extra-drop weight in a monster's table does not establish the time needed to obtain the material.

Which map and layer should you open?

The map directory separates the Main World from dungeon areas. Choose the area before searching for a point. Two places may use similar names without sharing coordinates or an entrance.

Use the Main World resource layer for gathering, or switch to NPCs when looking for a quest giver or service. Monsters have their own layer. Hiding an unrelated layer keeps its markers from covering the places you are trying to inspect. Layer selection affects the displayed map; it does not change which material a node produces.

How do you share the same spot?

A location page has its own named address. Use the next and previous location actions to inspect other occurrences of the same node; copying the current address keeps the specific occurrence you chose. Opening the larger area map lets you pan, zoom and compare nearby positions.

After adjusting the area view, use Share view. That link preserves the chosen named location, camera and visible layers. Moving the camera alone does not replace the location page's identity. A shared view is useful when you want another player to inspect the same camp or gathering point instead of guessing which repeated marker you meant.

What does an open map not tell you?

A map placement does not report whether the node is available on your server at this moment. It also does not measure other players' gathering activity, your travel time or the safety of a route for your character. Use the map to choose a destination, then check conditions in the game before committing to a long circuit.

For a material budget, return to the crafting planner and count the remaining ingredients after your owned stock. The map helps you act on that bill; it does not replace it. Reopening the item page shows what the material is used for, so a gathering trip stays attached to the equipment or consumable you are preparing.
