The Tablet

What we know now as the City of Misfortune was once a grand metropolis, where grand buildings rose high into the sky! Light poured out from their many windows and beamed rays out across the seas... But an earthquake devastated the city and all the mighty architecture crashed down, killing most of the people. The people who were not killed became wretched in their helplessness, for who could challenge the might of nature? No one. Many sought guidance from the sacred stone tablet, passed down to us by our ancestors. We hope that the profound text carved into the sacred stone may provide us with wisdom for dealing with our sad plight, and to cope with our dramatic fall from greatness. Unfortunately, none of us were able to decipher the symbolic text before the tablet sank to the seafloor as our entire city drowned! As the sacred stone of our people, this tablet symbolizes the spirit of our people. We must discover the messages from our ancient sages.
