Dragon of the Depths

The old beast has been there for as long as I can remember! Back when I was a young lad, the older ones used to scare us tikes with high tales of the Dragon of the Depths! Though a mammoth among the mariners, she was never a beast to fear, for all the legends said the creature was helper to our people. A popular story told round the campfires on fair autumn evenings was of the time the beast came to the aid of the hero of our ancestors. Those days of valiant bravery and solidarity between beast and human is one for the moldy old history books. Today this beast is near her end. Modern day plagues afflict her prehistoric body. Caffeinated parasites chomp away at her insides. Such a miserable end for a truly friendly creature. Perhaps she would be relieved to be helped out of this gully and into the wide open waters? Let's send her off a swirling for the last days of her mindboggelingly long life.
